i was just talking about WARREN OATES on the VANISHING POINT thread. he was a great all around actor. he was in so many westerns earlier and into the seventies. he was a quieter type of actor who didn't have to go all out to steal a scene. he stole alot of TWO LANE BLACKTOP, just by laying back and letting DENNIS WILSON AND JAMES TAYLOR do all the work. JAMES TAYLOR could have done a lot more acting too.PETER FONDA would draw attention to himself all the time. i liked him a lot too. i watched a lot of his older biker movies where he tried to be a hip MARLON BRANDO. peter has changed a lot lately and is doing more of his father's type of roles. it shows a lot of maturity on his part. ULEE'S GOLD suprised me quite a bit. it was a good movie, not a great movie. this movie was so much bigger all around at the drive in, no pun intended. it seemed so much more vivid and urgent. it was like a gaint home theater that drew you into the movie. i would love to own a drive in, just to bring these movies back to them.
