I've been trying to find a way to add videos of some of the chases to the site. There are a lot of obstacles, like bandwith, capturing the video, and legal issues. The only way I can see to get around this is to use videos already online on third party sites that would let VaRaces link to them. Studios will let me use direct links to trailers but I'd rather have clips of the specific chases.

So instead, pulling links from youtube.com and video.google.com will have to do. Adding links into the comments until a more permanent solution is found.

Thanks for considering video uploads, dhopkins. I can’t download any of the forum’s posted links from MegaUploads, and if this system gets implemented, it will be a boon for me. I’m currently downloading chases through KeepVid from YouTube, though. I find there’s a wealth of chases to be had on YouTube: classics like Bullitt and the French Connection, cults like C’Etait Un Rendezvous and Gone In Sixty Seconds (the original, in 6 parts due to its sheer length!), modern hits like Ong Bak, The Island, Bad Boys 2, Transporter and Mr & Mrs Smith. Just type those names in the handy search engine. Man, the people who posted those are great! Plus, Amanaman, a.k.a. SWF, has posted his Sims 2 Car Chase and Car Crash Mixes there too. I do hope, however, that our wish to post clips on this site materializes…

It's been a long request for videos to be added to Varaces, and it is a shame there are copyright issues as my library really could have helped. However, as pointed out by Andreteh, I myself have already added content to youtube such as my sim movie and car crash mixes, which were well received by viewers it seems. I will probably add some of my chases to youtube, but Le Casse for example is already up there

Because youtube is a video hosting website whereas Varaces is a car chase database...

And couldnt we get the rights to submit videos?
